Christmas 2009

Secret Restaurant’s festive dinner - ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Sat 12th December

Evening dress code: It’s a special place, dress for the occasion...

This season’s Secret Restaurant is all about absolute indulgence. We’ve been given the chance to spoil ourselves, and you ,at the most grand venue yet. A Georgian mansion in Kent, set in 80 acres of beautiful landscape, lakes and gardens. And not just that...we all get to stay the night in beautiful rooms with incredible views of the Kentish countryside! (Actually, you don’t have to stay, but really, once you get there you’ll want to...) We’ve got beautiful doubles, singles and group/dorm rooms available, so why not get a big table together and come over for the night!

It’ll go like this: you drive out to Kent (it’s an hour from Brighton) and join us at the house. We’ll be serving high tea from 3pm, so once you’ve checked in, if you’re lucky enough to be staying, you’ll be shown to the library, an exquisite room with a roaring fire where we’ll spoil you with cakes and savouries and you can have tea or anything from our wine list.

The afternoon is of course yours to do with what you will, but we will have various therapies available if you book in advance - why not spend the afternoon having a luxurious bath, followed by a massage or aromatherapy? Equally enticing would be a winter stomp through the grounds, round the lake in proper festive fashion, knowing you’ll be coming back to the cosy, grand library for evening drinks before dinner.

Dinner is of course what all this is about and we really hope you’ll love the style of things this year. It’s tapas style but with a thoroughly British festive theme of big earthy flavours combined with creamy and smooth sauces - perfect for this time of year and to get you in the mood for the coming month.

After dinner...head back to the fire and talk into the night...who’s going home?
