To the side of a small converted cricket pavilion in Hove park
is a perfect secret little courtyard we've been lucky enough
to get for our next Secret Restaurant.

It's summer again! We're going to make the most of it and get ourselves cooking outside! (and if it does rain, we've got a cosy back up plan...)

Hove Park Cafe have been kind enough to lend us their place for the night for us to host a posh grill restaurant for One Night Only on Saturday 28th June.It's the season for tomatoes and Grey Mullet, asparagus, Welsh lamb and gooseberries, cherries and rhubarb and we'll be enhancing all that with plenty of citrus and pepper.
To start everyone off, we want to share some chip dry white Port we bought back from our visit to Taylors Port house in Oporto this spring and our own sloe gin cherries!

Menu
Chip Dry White port with vintage sloe marinated cherries
and smoky roasted monkey nuts

Starter
(you get a platter with all of these)
(V) Pressed Tomatoes and beetroot.
Home cured gravadlax char-grilled in a garlic mussel and wine cream
(or artichoke and palm hearts in leeks in a garlic wine cream (v)).
(V) Peppery asparagus soup.

Mains on the BBQ!
Grilled rack of lamb, from a cherry and bay marinade,
served with Gremolata mash, lemon courgette
and puy lentils with slow braised lamb shoulder.
Whole grey mullet with fennel, grilled on the bbq
and served with a lemon fennel 'hollandaise'
and steamed samphire and Parmentier potatoes.
Tarragon feta with raspberry shallots and Camargue rice
in brick pastry served with marinated grilled vegetables
and a gazpacho consommé.

Sharesies
White chocolate and orange ‘fondue' with rhubarb choux buns
and poached strawberry and gooseberry brochette
with an iced strawberry mousse.
